Dear all,
I'm happy to share with you the last and second part of the interview which Mesfin Negash and I conducted last year with Martin Schibbye and Johan Persson, the two Swedish journalists who were incarcerated for over a year in Ethiopia and "pardoned" on the eve of Ethiopian New Year. They're rushing up right now to finish chronicling their the inhumane, barbaric harrowing and experiences at the hands of the TPLF junta. Martin and Johan never thought, the clip that shows mock-execution made on them by the Somali Region's deputy president, would be brought against them as an evidence at the Ethiopian court and such criminal activities made them realize how the regime in Ethiopia recklessly violates rule of law and the constitution itself drafted and enacted. According to the duo Swedes, one doesn't have to be an editor in chief of an established newspaper to be imprisoned in Ethiopia; Kality is crowded with ordinary Ethiopians who have a different opinion or political view than the regime authorizes. Mistrust among inmates in Kality is rife; everybody is snitching each other, either to get small benefits of the prison and or to get speedy release. It doesn't matter if one understand the language or not, watching ETV (Ethiopian Television) Amharic news program on daily basis is obligatory to every prisoner in Kality. Enjoy the rest of the interview and thanks for your time.
